Truss Suspended Pouring Manipulator, also widely known as overhead manipulator, is a semi-automatic overhead mounted automatic pouring equipment specially developed for large-scale and long-span foundry molten metal pouring operations, featuring overhead traveling, full coverage and zero ground occupation.
The overhead manipulator is a specialized overhead rail casting manipulator designed for high-temperature molten metal pouring in iron and steel foundries. Different from conventional ground-based industrial manipulators, it adopts top truss suspension installation and is dedicated to standardized and safe liquid pouring procedures in modern casting workshops.
As a truss-mounted suspended pouring manipulator, the whole equipment is fixed on customized overhead truss rails installed above the production line. All traveling and pouring mechanisms are suspended in the air, requiring no ground foundation fixing or floor occupation, which greatly optimizes the internal space layout of the foundry.
The equipment operates in a semi-automatic mode. Operators control the overhead rail mounted manipulator for casting to complete overall line traveling, ladle holding, positioning and tilting pouring. The mechanical structure ensures running stability, while manual operation retains flexible adjustment capability to cope with complex mold layouts and diverse pouring demands.
It is positioned as professional overhead mounted industrial manipulators for large and medium-sized foundry factories, long assembly lines and multi-station continuous pouring scenarios. It effectively makes up for the shortcomings of limited stroke and space occupation of floor-type pouring machines, and is an ideal upgrade solution for automated foundry production lines.

This semi-automatic pouring equipment relies on overhead truss rails to achieve longitudinal and transverse floating movement. In actual production, workers control the equipment to travel to the ladle picking position and stably clamp the molten metal ladle. After positioning accurately above the mold gate, the manipulator completes stable tilting and quantitative molten metal pouring through electric control. Once single pouring is finished, operators control the equipment to return to the liquid taking station for refilling. The whole process repeats cyclically, combining mechanical stability and manual flexibility to ensure continuous and orderly pouring operation.
The equipment consists of three pars:
3 Beams
Truss-mounted suspended pouring manipulator
Travel speed is adjustable by frequency converter, equipped with electromagnetic clutch.
Rotation of the pouring machine is manual.
Forward/backward movement of the ladle is manual.
Tilting of the ladle is manual.
Electric mobile platform
The machine adopts PLC stepless speed control, ensuring smooth start, stop and operation. The speed can be adjusted freely (high or low), reducing vibration and providing high safety.
The truss-mounted suspended pouring manipulator features a reasonable structural design, which can achieve balanced static holding at any position, reducing the labor intensity of operators and improving safety.
